Features and Benefits:
Dosage: As an initial treatment, apply 1 quart per 25,000 gallons. Maintenance
dose is 2 ounces per 5,000 gallons every other week or 1 ounce per 5,000 gallons every week (Pool Emporium, Inc.
suggest the weekly method). Also add 1 ounce per 5,000 gallons after heavy rains.
(Pool Emporium, Inc. suggests always shocking in the evening and adding your algicide the following morning.)

*This decreases the surface tension and helps the water penetrate the cracks and crevices where algae hide, "carrying" the sanitizer with it. Reducing the surface tension also allows debris to sink where it will be picked up by automatic cleaners. A wetting agent makes water feel wetter, making for a more refreshing swim.

Dosage: Per BioLab, Inc. 1.7 to 2.8 pounds per 1,000 gallons to achieve 30 to 50 ppm (2.8 to 4.5 pounds per 1,000 gallons for SoftSwim® pools to achieve 50 to 80 ppm). Maintenance at 1 pound per 1,000 for an increase of 17.64 ppm.
Product must be divided into 3 doses, adding 1/3 at a time with 8 hours between each dose. A pH decreaser must added one hour after each dose. Infrequent maintenance doses are necessary when your level drops to 30 ppm (50 ppm in a SoftSwim® pool), as indicated by an Optimizer Plus™ Test Kit.
Pool Emporium, Inc. has had excellent results with an initial dose of 2 pounds per 1,000 gallons to establish a level of approximately 50 ppm (3.2 pounds per 1,000 gallons in a SoftSwim® pool to establish a level of 80 ppm). For a booster dose we use 1 pound per 1,000 gallons at 30 ppm, and 1.5 pounds per 1,000 gallons in a SoftSwim® pool at 50 ppm.
Example: In a 15,000 gallon chlorine pool, you would initially add 30 pounds. When your level drops to 30 ppm (our retail store experience has shown this first addition to typically be necessary 6 to 8 months later!), you would need to add another 15 pounds.
Using this same example in for a SoftSwim® pool, the initial dose would be 48 pounds, and another 22.5 pounds when the level drops to 50 ppm.
